Botswana fields five contestants in M-Net's Idols

Botswana only managed to field five contestants in M-Net's ongoing Idols, singing talent search, which was broadcast on DStv last Sunday. The show, which came on at around 17:00 on DStv's M-Net 102 show, left much to be desired as it seemed like the judges were not going to get much talent from the Gaborone auditions, which were conducted on March 28 at the Grand Palm Hotel.

While quite a number of those who believed they could sing thronged the Grand Palm to take a shot at making it into the talent search's theatre stage, it was only Samantha Mogwe, Ammara Brown, Everlyn Mokgadi, Joseph Dipatane and Kgomotso Perekisi who managed to get a golden ticket for a chance to prove that they have what it takes to become the next Idol.

Botswana's auditions were shown alongside those of Malawi, another country, which managed to field only five contestants for the next stage.
The Idols ultimate winner stands to scoop USD 80, 000 (roughly P528, 000) cash and a 'once-in-a-lifetime recording contract through the famed Sony BMG.
