Botswana artists' awards re-launched

Speaking at the event on Monday at the President's Hotel, the Deputy Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Youth, Sport and Culture, Neo Asafo-Adjei, said the awards which were inaugurated in 2005 were initially called "The Artist of The Year Awards" and this year, the name has been changed to "Orange Botswerere, Botswana Artists Awards, 2007" in order to 'recognise the meaningful sponsorship from Orange as a strategic partner in the endeavour'.
Asafo-Adjei went on to explain that the awards were meant to recognise and promote the artistic talent of Botswana among other things.
