BOMU awards entries close on Sunday

The clock is ticking fast for local musicians to submit their entries for this year's P750, 000 Mascom sponsored music awards. Entries close on September 20.

Botswana Musician Union (BOMU) spokesman, Joel Keitumele, says his organization had received over 100 entries by last week.

The BOMU spokesman says they are only accepting entries for songs and albums produced last year and this year.  While the criteria shuts the door on hits like Thobane, released towards the Christmas of 2007, another celebrated 2008 release, Makanyane, by Ditiro Leero and Gong Master Ketshabile, will have a chance to compete with last year's hot album, Jaro, by Deben Natale, now in prison for a rape offence he committed  a few years ago.
