Bakwena launch Dithubaruba Cultural Festival

In a move to preserve their culture, Bakwena held the inaugural Dithubaruba Cultural Festival at Molepolole's Kgosi Sechele I Museum last Friday.

Speaking at the event, Minister of Youth, Sports and Culture Moeng Pheto quoted first Botswana president Sir Seretse Khama who once said, "a nation without a culture is a nation without a soul".

Urging Bakwena to preserve their culture, the minister said: "We have all to guard against the disappearance of our culture. Although I realise it is not wise to hang on to the old way of life even when it no longer serves any useful purpose, I believe our culture still has much to offer that we need to preserve, nurture and take pride in."
