Bakwena appeals for funds

Speaking to Mmegi during an interview, Bakwena said this year, Thapong intends to make the awards 'bigger and better' as they are going to have six categories namely, painting, printmaking, sculpture, pottery, photography and media.

The awards ceremony will be held on August 29."The awards help to promote and motivate art and artists in Botswana therefore it will be very important for corporate companies to partner with Thapong to uplift the standard of art in Botswana as well as develop a culture of art appreciation in the country," he said, adding that this will help young and upcoming artists to have an opportunity to learn from professionals.
