Further delays in �fake lawyer�s� case

The case in which a former Zimbabwe Defence Force soldier, Limukani Moyo is facing charges of obtaining by false pretence and unlawfully remaining in Botswana could be headed for further delays after the Regional Magistrate Mokwadi Gabanagae said he could not preside over the case.

Moyo, (45), allegedly defrauded people claiming to be a lawyer and unlawfully remained in Botswana for over five years after the expiry of his visitor’s permit in 2012. The case has experienced several postponements before, with the prosecution either asking for more time to complete investigations.

The matter was referred to the Regional Magistrate’s court two weeks ago following an application for recusal of the then presiding magistrate by the accused.
