Jwaneng hosts spectacular inter-mine games

JWANENG: Debswana inter-mine games invaded the diamond mining town with different sporting codes, treating spectators to a fun-filled weekend. Jwaneng Mine, Orapa/Letlhakane and Damtshaa Mines (OLDMs) as well as Debswana Corporate Centre (DCC) participated in 11 sporting codes here while the other 11 were hosted by Orapa during the same weekend.

Jwaneng Mine scooped eight awards on the night to beat their fellow colleagues.  They were victorious in basketball, darts, soccer two, soccer masters, squash, table tennis men, volleyball women and powerlifting competition. 

OLDMs won trophies in lawn tennis, pool, swimming, women’s table tennis and volleyball men while DCC scooped position one only in netball.  Other sporting codes like chess, aerobics, cycling, golf, snooker, soccer 1 and softball were held in Orapa.
