Standard One pupil dies after being hit by a car

PALAPYE: Palapye police are investigating a case in which a six-year-old pupil from Kediretswe Primary School here was hit by a car on her way home from school on Monday.

Confirming the accident, Wednesday, Palapye police Assistant Station Commander, Mothokomedi Ponyane said it was reported to them on Monday around 12 noon.

“It is true that we are investigating a case in which a six-year-old girl from Kediretswe Primary School was hit and killed by a Fortuna car.  “We are still not sure of what might have exactly transpired for the accident to happen, but I can say that we are currently detaining a middle aged man who was driving the car to help us with investigations,” said Ponyane.
