More buses for UDC campaign

Two more buses for the Umbrella for Democratic Change’s (UDC) ambitious last minute campaign have arrived, bringing to four the number of branded buses the opposition movement has.

According to UDC officials, the four buses are part of a fleet of seven that the opposition party plans to use in its countrywide campaign trail ahead of October 24. Party leaders and activists will use the buses to campaign around the country. One of the two latest buses is branded with UDC vice president, Ndaba Gaolatlhe’s name and is inscribed ‘iNdaba yam’ istraight’ a reference to a Brenda Fassie song about being forthright with one’s issues.  The other new bus is branded with UDC president Duma Boko’s name and is inscribed ‘Ha e duma ya tsamaya’.

The two buses are understood to have arrived on Sunday and were both sourced from South Africa. Special assistant to the UDC president, Elliot Moshoke, said more buses were due to arrive soon. “So far our party has four buses and we are still expecting the last three,” he said.
