Former court clerk accused of stealing case docket

Former court clerk, Kemmedi Mabego has pleaded not guilty to corruption after he was accused of stealing a case docket in return for P230 in bribe money.

Appearing before Village Chief Magistrate Barnabas Nyamadzabo, Mabego, 35, who was based at the Mochudi Magistrate Court is facing a single charge of corruption by a public officer.

The State alleges that Mabego on or about July 15, this year in Mochudi, whilst employed in the Public Service under the Administration of Justice, corruptly accepted P230 as a reward from Samuel Killer Makete, for giving the latter the original criminal record in respect of the criminal case against Makete.
