Banyana ba tricky!

A few weeks ago a local tabloid splashed on its front page dirty details of sexual soliciting and violence allegations leveled against Kgosi Tawana. The young chief apparently met a young woman at a nightclub in Maun, bought her a drink and asked her to accompany him to a 24-hour chicken outlet. On the way Tawana apparently took a detour and suddenly demanded sexual favours in the dark.

When the young lady refused, he reportedly became infuriated, beat her up and shoved her out of his vehicle before speeding away angrily. The story has another twist because it also emerged that the lady is related to Tawana’s political opponent, who ironically, ran to the papers with the story. A political attempt to discredit Tawana perhaps? I don’t know...you decide...

As much as I shamelessly admit to being a feminist, I must point out that some women are active participants of their being used, undermined and taken for a ride. Yes, I agree that no man has the right to lie to a woman, get sex from her under false pretences, rape or assault her. Only a stupid coward would do that. But we know many men lie to women to sleep with them.
