The Zebras will face record Africa Cup of Nations champions, Egypt in their quest to qualify for the 2025 finals to be held in Morocco.

In a draw conducted in Johannesburg this afternoon, Didier Gomes da Rosa's charges will also face Cape Verde and Mauritania in Group C. Without a doubt, Mohammed Salah's Egypt will pose the biggest threat while Cape Verde has been a consistent performer in recent years. Mauritania has been improving and cannot be undermined. There are 12 groups and the top two teams advance to the finals which have been pushed to December 2025 and January 2026. This was necessitated by the expanded FIFA Club World Cup which takes place next year June.
