In 2015, a mat meant for the Botswana Wrestling Federation (BWF) donated by Russia, failed to reach Selebi-Phikwe due to logistical challenges encountered at the Durban harbour. However this week, the association took delivery of a 6x6 metres wrestling ring that landed in the former mining town from South Africa.

BWF president, Moagi Sharp said the ring, which cost P100,000, was purchased from funds taken from the annual subvention allocated to the Federation.

He explained that association had received P120,000 for the current financial year.
