The exciting second leg of the Botswana Chess Federation (BCF) national team selection that ended on Sunday produced tantalizing upsets as senior players failed to proceed to the finals set for February 13 to 15.

The team that will be selected will represent the country at the 46th Chess Olympiad 2026 that will be held from September 15 to 28 in Samarkand, Uzbekistan. The duo was in the team that represented Botswana at the last Olympiad. Another veteran player, Mosenya Ndawana, did not make it to the finals.
