Township Rollers' midweek away draw to Sua Flamingoes could have rolled the red carpet for Jwaneng Galaxy to canter to a third league title.

The two teams have been neck-to-neck since the start of the second round while Gaborone United (GU) fell out of the race. Popa travelled to the Sowa Town Council Stadium on Wednesday and played to a 0-0 draw with the home side while Galaxy eased past Security Systems 2-0.

Galaxy have now opened a three-point lead over Rollers and they have an advantage of a game in hand. The diamond miners are on a high as they extended their unbeaten run to 16 games. They last tasted defeat in mid-October and look set to wrap up their third league title. It is an interesting turn ahead of the last 10 games of the campaign and it is now in Galaxy's hands to retain their title. The defending champions sit on 50 points with 33 points to play for to potentially reach a maximum of 83. Rollers on the other hand can only amass a maximum of 77 points from the remaining games while GU can only go as far as 68 points.
