Local football has lost a promising talent in Perfect Nfhandiso who succumbed to a short illness

The football fraternity has come out to show sympathy and support to Jwaneng Galaxy and the family of departed full back, Perfect Nfhandiso.

The national champions, Jwaneng Galaxy, on Sunday announced the death of Nfhandiso. He died at a tender age of 19 following a short illness. Nfhandiso was a two-time league champion with Galaxy and made his debut as a 17-year-old in 2023 but assumed a squad player role. He was also part of the Zebras’ Under-20 team that competed at the COSAFA Under-20 Championship played in Mozambique late 2024.

In paying his respect, the Botswana Football Association (BFA) president, Tariq Babitseng, announced that football will honour the memory of Nfhandiso in all official matches under the BFA structures with the observation of a moment of silence before kick-off this weekend. “Perfect was a promising talent in Botswana football, having represented the country as part of the Botswana National U-20 men’s team. His dedication to the game and his potential made him a rising star in local football. His loss is a tremendous blow not only to Jwaneng Galaxy but to the entire football fraternity,” reads a statement from Babitseng.
