Township Rollers and Gaborone United (GU) may be fierce rivals on the pitch, but the two sides appear to be putting more effort into collaborating off the pitch to secure partnerships.

A few days ago, both Rollers and GU announced that they have secured a sponsorship from a betting organisation, Sunbet Botswana.

The announcement comes at a time when both sides are preparing for the upcoming season, with GU also gearing up for a CAF Champions League adventure. For Rollers supporters, the news is somewhat of a form of relief following the departure of last season’s chief financier, Tendani Sebata, who has since joined newbies, Black Lions. Both Rollers and GU have also recently secured the services of Zonetwo Sportswear as technical sponsors. Furthermore, Rollers also announced a partnership with Diagnofirm Medical Laboratories.
