Nalamalpu Eesha Reddy is a talented chess player, and her hard work has earned her the Woman Candidate Master (WCM) title, bestowed upon her by FIDE president Arkady Dvorkovich. However, she admits it was not an easy path to achieving the title. “Regarding the WCM title, I was able to accumulate 1800 points; it is a hard title to get. My short-term goal is to get the 1900 rating, whilst my long-term goal is to get the Woman International Master (WIM) title. A reserved individual, she began her chess career at the young age of six, when it started as a hobby.

“I have never liked any other sport. I only had an eye for chess because it teaches life skills, such as strategising and patience," she explains.
