Jwaneng Wildebeests are fully recharged for a battle against league champions, BDF Cheetahs, in the Knock Out Cup, which will also be a season opener for the two sides.

Kick off is at 2pm at the Hogs ground. Last season, Wildebeests beat Cheetahs 34-12 in the Knock Out Cup group stages. However, Cheetahs gained revenge and knocked out Wildebeests in the semi-finals.

Wildebeests will see the return of tactician Mathews Porogo, who was not with the side last season. Speaking to Mmegi Sport, he said preparations for the match have gone according to plan, but it will not be easy against the Cheetahs. “I was not with the club last season, but we have regrouped. We have about five senior players who are new to the club culture,” said Porogo. “They are getting used to our play. We were also expecting one player from Zimbabwe, who was part of the team last season.”
