Referees on the spot as Notwane move inches from relegation

Claims that some match officials are unjust reached their peak on Saturday when Notwane and Extension Gunners clashed in a Debswana First Division South League game played at SSG Grounds.

Relegation threatened Notwane ran out as the 2-1 victors in a tie that produced a red card and three cautions. Ofentse Nato was sent for an early shower late in the first half.

The incident irked the Gunners' fans and officials at the ground as one executive who anonymously spoke to SportMonitor claimed that one of the match officials had approached the club proposing to swing the results their way for a fee. The club official claimed that they turned down the proposal and felt the referee used the power of the whistle to favour Notwane.

Don't let FMD outbreak drag on
