Gaborone United (GU) Ladies, or Red Roses delivered a footballing lesson of the highest order on Sunday afternoon, dismantling a helpless Ghanzi Swallows side 42-0 in a one-sided contest.

The win showcased GU’s supremacy and exposed the visitors’ growing struggles in the newly revamped league.

Swallows assistant coach, Arnold Pillar cut a helpless figure as his side were torn apart by a ruthless Gaborone United Ladies outfit. He admitted that inexperience, injuries and poor preparation left his team no match for the Red Roses’ well-oiled machine.

A promising step for public schools, but...

For too long, the state of many public schools has been a source of shame. We have all seen the pictures and heard the stories of broken windows, unreliable water and electricity, topped by classrooms that are not fit for proper learning. The establishment of the Education Infrastructure and Management Company Ltd (EIMC) signals that authorities are finally ready to take this problem seriously. We must commend the government for this initiative....
