Paralympics national team has touched down in Paris, France for the World Paralympics Athletics Championships. Bonkamile Bankaetse, guided by Phemelo Modimakwane, will be in action tomorrow for the T11 category as the championships kick-off.

The championships run until July 11. National team coach, Nason ‘Hadji’ Maotwe said preparations for the championships went according to plan. He stated that the team has been in a training camp for a month, although some athletes could not attend due to school/work commitments.

“I can safely say everything is in place, the team is ready for the championships. We arrived in two groups in Paris because other athletes had issues with their visas. All the athletes that I wanted in my team are here and that was made possible through funding from the Ministry of Youth, Gender, Sport and Culture,” he said. Maotwe also said the entire team has been classified and ready to compete.
