Nowe misses out on semis

Botswana middle distance runner, Oratile Nowe has failed to progress to the 800m semi-final after finishing in position five with a time of 2:03.29 during the repechage round.

Only the winner of the heat, Rose Almanza of Cuba qualified for the semi-final after clocking 2:01.54.

Yesterday, the Olympics debutant, Nowe finished in position five in the women's 800m heat. She clocked 2: 01.00, failing to qualify for an automatic qualification to the semi-final.
