After picking an injury during the men’s 400m semi-final yesterday, Bayapo Ndori has been withdrawn from the 4x400m relay team participating in the ongoing World Athletics Championships in Budapest, Hungary.

The initial round of the men’s 4x400m relay is scheduled for Saturday. Ndori was anticipated to play a pivotal role in the race but has now been ruled out due to injury. Oabona Theetso, the Botswana Athletics Association (BAA) vice president-Administration, conveyed from Budapest to Mmegi Online that it was fortunate that Ndori did not incur a muscle tear.

"But for safety, he is withdrawn from the relay team to give him some recovery period," he stated.

Meanwhile, Oratile Nowe did not advance to the semi-final of the women’s 800m race after securing position seven and crossing the finish line in 2:01.62. Notably, Nowe established a new national record (NR) and a personal best (PB). Nowe is slated to return to the track on Saturday as part of the women’s 4x400m relay team. Furthermore, Letsile Tebogo progressed to the 200m semi-final after winning his heat with a time of 20.22 during a midday race.
