The Zebras are yet to break the duck in the AFCON 2023 qualifiers but that could change as they go into a crucial stage of the contest. The team has gone 180 minutes without hitting the back of the net.

The Zebras were 'airlifted' to the qualifiers' group stages after Eritrea pulled out of the competition. The team was barren in the 1-0 away loss to Libya and a 0-0 draw at home.

Head coach, Mogomotsi 'Teenage' Mpote's worries would ease as he has summoned a 49-goal frontline into the team ahead of the back-to-back against Equatorial Guinea. The strikers have an average of six goals per attacker this season. Mpote has seven forwards in the team who have contributed almost half a century of goals this season.
