Mixed feelings over Commonwealth Games medals target

Botswana National Olympic Committee has set a target of seven medals for the team competing in the Commonwealth Games. In the last edition of the Games in Birmingham 2022, Botswana won two medals, a Silver through the men’s 4x400m relay team and a Bronze medal won by Lethabo Modukanele in boxing.

The best performance was during the 2018 Gold Coast Games, where the country scooped three gold medals by Isaac Makwala (400m), Amantle Montsho (400m) and the men’s 4x400m relay team.

Baboloki Thebe won a silver medal in the men’s 400m while the women’s 4x400m relay team settled for a bronze medal.
