Reigning champions Gaborone United are beginning to smell another league crown after opening a five-point gap at the top of the 2025–2026 FNB Premiership standings following the midweek fixtures.

The Reds were made to work for their supper but eventually saw off a stubborn Santa Green 2–0 in a Wednesday night clash at the GU Stadium. Second-half strikes from Mpho Kgaswane and Mothusi Johnson kept GU marching on, stretching their remarkable unbeaten league run to 26 matches dating back to last season.

GU also smiled at results elsewhere as closest challengers Jwaneng Galaxy dropped points in a 1–1 away draw against Orapa United, allowing the champions to widen the cushion at the summit with 13 games still to play.
