Defending champions, Gaborone United (GU), struck a decisive blow in the FNB Premiership title race after ending Jwaneng Galaxy’s remarkable 1,050-day unbeaten home run with a hard-fought 1-0 victory at the Galaxy Stadium on Saturday evening.

Ivan Kamberipa’s towering 66th-minute header not only separated the two sides but also shattered a fortress that had stood firm in league competition since April 8, 2023.

The victory lifted GU three points clear at the summit with 30 points still to play for, firmly shifting control of the title race into the champions’ hands.
