MORWA: Celebrating the Golden Jubilee is a milestone not only for an individual sportsperson but also for a sporting club. Morwa Rising Stars football club, which competes in the Kgatleng Regional Football, is celebrating its fiftieth anniversary. To add cherry on top, the team has secured a partnership with Letsema Insurance Brokers, bringing hope to its supporters. Club manager, Shima ‘True’ Makgala, told MmegiSport that he has been managing the club since the 1990s to date, following a short career at Gaborone United (GU).

“When I rejoined Stars from GU, there were many players here, but there was no management; hence, I decided to manage them with the little knowledge I had picked from GU,” he explained.

“Morwa Rising Stars was formed when I was still a young boy 50 years ago, with the likes of Dr Daniel Tau, the late Andrew Matsela Tau, Jacob Thamage, Nicodemus Tau, and Meshack Tau, amongst others.
