The Botswana Chess Federation (BCF) is still deliberating on the name of the player to represent the country at the 2023 International Chess Federation (FIDE) World Cup.

Botswana qualified for the 2023 FIDE World Cup after their performance at this year's Olympiad, which was held in Chennai, India.

The country is in the Open Section together with Egypt, Tunisia, South Africa, Zimbabwe, Morocco, Madagascar, Libya, Uganda, Zambia, South Sudan, Nigeria, Ethiopia, Namibia, and Algeria.
