Local motorcyclist Ross Branch has ascended four positions to claim fourth place in the World Rally-Raid Championship (W2RC) rankings.

This achievement follows a stellar performance at the just-ended Desafio Ruta 40 held in Argentina. Branch secured a commendable third-place finish in the race that started last Monday and ended on Saturday.

His victory earned him 16 points, propelling him from eighth position to fourth. Currently, Branch has accumulated a total of 45 points, placing him 11 points behind Adrien van Beveren, who occupies the third position. Lucian Benavides of Argentina leads the standings with 80 points, followed closely by Australian racer Toby Price with 71 points. In the upcoming final round of the 2023 W2RC, Rallye du Marco in October, he aims to secure a spot on the podium. Despite two prior appearances, Branch has yet to claim the world championship title.
