Safe hands: Boseja will face Double Action

There will be no love lost as Mares goalkeeper, Sedilame Boseja faces her former side, Double Action in the COSAFA CAF Champions League qualifiers. Boseja’s new team, Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies was pitted against Double Action in Group A in a draw held in Johannesburg, South Africa yesterday.

Lesotho Defence Force and Manzini Wanderers of Eswatini complete Group A, with the tournament scheduled to be played from August 26 to September 4, 2021. Boseja was a junior player at Double Action until 2015 when she joined Township Rollers. She returned to the Gaborone based side in 2017 for a brief spell before joining Bloemfontein Celtic in the 2017 winter transfer window.

The 23-year-old was signed by Sundowns in May, a move, which was queried by Action as they claimed the player belonged to the Gaborone Region Women’s League side. She recently started training with her new teammates as she is on the path to recovery from an injury sustained earlier this year. Boseja has announced her intentions of breaking into the starting lineup of the star-studded side ahead of the tournament that will be played in a month’s time.
