National champions, Gaborone United (GU) will kickstart their FNB Premiership title defence with an away trip to Francistown where they will face rookies, Calendar Stars.

The Botswana Football League (BFL) released the fixtures yesterday, confirming the start of the season on the weekend of August 17.

The Reds snatched an away title following weeks of intense competition at the top against teams such as TAFIC and Jwaneng Galaxy. Calendar Stars will be making their debut in the elite league after beating Jwaneng Young Stars in the promotional play-offs. Mochudi Centre Chiefs and BDF XI will officially open the season on Friday night on August 16. The following day, Township Rollers will host Matebele FC while Nico United welcome Extension Gunners in Selebi Phikwe. Orange FA Cup champions, Jwaneng Galaxy will start their season at home against Morupule Wanderers while Sua Flamingoes who recently signed Segolame Boy take on VTM.

On a Sunday, Police XI will mark their return to the Premier League with a clash against Orapa United. New comers, Santa Green will start their campaign against TAFIC at home.

Don't let FMD outbreak drag on
