The Botswana Athletics Association (BAA) has taken a bold step suspending athletics coach Phenyo Semumu amidst rising doping cases in the sport.

According to a statement issued by BAA General Manager, Pinkie Wilson, the BAA board has taken a decision to suspend Semumu from all athletics-related activities until further notice. Sources say the suspension was influenced by the number of athletes under Semumu's stable who recently tested positive for banned substances. The affected athletes are Tshepang Manyika, Galaletsang Gabalotegwe, and Naledi Tonic Lopang.
