The Botswana Athletics Association (BAA) vice president-administration, Oabona Theetso, has survived a motion of no confidence after affiliates plotted his ouster last weekend. An audio recording circulating on messaging app, Whatsapp, details plans to remove Theetso.

The audio clip also lays a plan to remove the BAA general manager, Pinkie Wilson, when her term expires in July.

“The motion is already written, we [are] only waiting for three clubs for it to be finalised. Clubs, especially in the north, that do not belong to the same faction as him are not happy that is why they want to remove him,” one of the club representatives is captured saying in the audio. According to the audio, Sportsview Athletics Club chairperson, Glody Dube, will replace Wilson as general manager when the time comes.
