Both the Zebras and Dikwena finished level on five points but Lesotho progressed on a superior goal difference.Against Kenya, the Zebras continued their lacklustre display with the opponents enjoying better play.However, just like the Lesotho match, the Zebras went ahead through a well-struck Lemponye Tshireletso free kick in the 12th minute before Edwin Olerile's own goal levelled for Kenya four minutes from time. But substitute, Topo Piet saved Olerile the blushes with a headed goal right at the death. The Zebras now return home against a groundswell of discontent at coach, Stanley Tshosane.
Tshosane has been criticised for his failure to respond to situations when the team is backpedalling. The coach put on a brave face yesterday saying his boys had been unfortunate not to progress from a group that contained traditional whipping boys, Swaziland and Lesotho.Fans took to social networks after yesterday's result and continue to call for the coach's head. Tshosane now leads his side to South Africa for a tough encounter against Bafana Bafana in the final 2014 World Cup qualifier. The coach had taken a very strong squad to Zambia which was tipped to be among title contenders, but now returns home with deflated confidence.
