Zebras will travel to Central Africa Republic on June 1, 2012 for their opening fixture of the 2014 World Cup qualifiers. The national side will have very little time to rest after the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) finals to be played between January and February.

The Zebras were drawn in the same group with South Africa, Central African Republic and the winner between Somalia and Ethiopia in the preliminaries. A week after their away trip to Central African Republic, Zebras host Bafana Bafana in a game likely to attract a large crowd. Supporters have been relishing a match between the two sides in an official assignment. South Africa kick off their campaign at home to either Somalia or Ethiopia.

Meanwhile, Ghana will launch their bid to reach the 2014 World Cup in Brazil by hosting minnows Lesotho or Burundi. The 'Black Stars' were the best African performers at the 2010 tournament in South Africa, the first hosted by the continent, reaching the quarterfinals before losing a penalty shoot-out against Uruguay.
