Young Zebras March On

The Young Zebras sailed through to the next round of the African Youth Championship qualifiers after holding visiting Gabon Under-20 side to a goalless draw at the National Stadium on Saturday.

The Young Zebras proceed to the next round on a 2-0 goal aggregate after winning the first leg 2-0 away in Libreville a fortnight ago.

At the weekend, the hosts provided little entertainment for the paltry crowd that attended the game. This was not helped by the early exit of star striker Aubrey Kebonnetse who was carried off on a stretcher after being kicked on the knee by a Gabonese defender. Kebonnetse has been a star performer for the Young Zebras having scored three goals so far in the qualifiers. His absence was badly felt as his replacement Kgololo Leteane failed to live up to expectations. Leteane's combination with Mogakolodi Ngele did not threaten the visitors' defence thus allowing them to push forward in numbers.
