Who Will Get The Nod?

The Botswana Football Association (BFA) is expected to announce a new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) in a few days' time. The post fell vacant after the firing of Mooketsi Kgotlele in April after allegations of match-fixing during a Zebras' trip to China last year.

In the interim, Susan Monametsi has been in charge. The deadline for applications passed a fortnight ago and BFA president David Fani told Sport Monitor on Friday that they are in the process of getting the right person for the position. "The closing date has passed and we're currently looking at the applications. We want to fill it (vacancy) as soon as possible and even the people we have engaged to help us find the suitable person are aware of that. It is an urgent matter," he said.

Reliable sources say former BFA CEO, Thabo 'Styles' Ntshinogang, Marang Morakaladi, Maokaneng Bontshetse and Lyndon Mothusi are the front-runners for the position. Factionalism at the association might influence who gets the post and it is said that Ntshinogang was persuaded to apply for the post by some decision makers at Lekidi Centre, the BFA headquarters. Ntshinogang is seen as the right man as he has served in the position before.
