Jubilation and despair marked the end of the be MOBILE Premier League season last weekend after Gaborone United (GU) were crowned champions.

Hailed as one of the most successful seasons in years, the campaign saw an exciting two horse race for the championship between GU and defending champions Mochudi Centre Chiefs. 

The season started with another crowd puller, Township Rollers staking an early claim to the title after halting Chiefs' 32 game unbeaten run. Rollers had just roped in coach Rahman Gumbo who had a lethal frontline led by Terence Mandaza, Mohammed Chawila, Joel Mogorosi and Thapelo Balepi. Popa were installed bookmakers favourites for the title, but a poor run which began with a 3-2 loss to GU brought questions about their championship credentials.
