Zebras were held to a 0-0 draw by Uganda in an international friendly match played at Molepolole Sports Complex yesterday. With South African based players absent, coach Stanley Tshosane tried different combinations.

Captain, Mompati Thuma partnered Oscar Ncenga at the heart of the defence. ECCO City Greens defender, Keabetswe Jenamiso played as a right back in the place of Tshepo Motlhabankwe, while Musa Ohilwe started at left back.  Edwin Olerile started at left wing in front of Ohilwe. It was Uganda who threatened to score first in the fifth minute from a corner kick but Zebras' goalkeeper, Mompoloki Sephekolo quickly dealt with the threat. Zebras chance came in the 15th minute in a counter attack move, but miscommunication between Jerome Ramatlhakwana and attacking midfielder, Jackie Mothatego saw Ramatlhakwana's cross go to waste. Although they did not pose too much threat on the Zebras' goalposts, Uganda players were comfortable on the ball especially in the midfield.

Their attacker, Bengo Steven looked dangerous every time he received the ball. Zebras defence led by Thuma gave him little room to maneuver. Steven tested Sephekolo with a long-range effort targeting the far corner but once again Sephekolo was on alert and dealt with it. At the start of the second half, Tshosane introduced Mokgathi Mokgathi in place of Ohilwe. Mokgathi moved to the right wing while Olerile moved to the left back position. Lemponye Tshireletso moved from the right wing to the left. Nico United's defender-cum midfielder, Richard Legwaila was also introduced early in the second half but spent only about 20 minutes on the field before he made way for Ntesang Simanyana as Zebras looked to enhance creativity in the middle.
