TV tussle gets tough in Africa

The tussle for television sports supremacy across Africa has intensified, with rivals GTV and Supersport each signing sponsorship deals worth millions of dollars.

GTV is a relatively new player in Africa, and has signed a five-year $3.5 million deal with the Tanzanian Football Federation (TFF).

At the same time their more established rivals Supersport, have promised $2.7 million dollars to the Football Association of Zambia (FAZ). The pair have swiftly become bitter rivals in the search for viewers across the continent.
