Tshosane lauds BFA

The new Botswana Football Association (BFA) administration has won praise from an unlikely source - the often critical Zebras coach, Stanley Tshosane.

The national team coach has, in the past, chided the association for poor preparations. However, after seeing his side improve performance on the field, Tshosane gave credit to men and women at Lekidi Centre."The boys are happy. We should give BFA credit, they have done very well attending to players' welfare. That is why I always say everyone should play his part," Tshosane said. The coach has watched his side roar back from a disastrous two years to record an impressive win against the Central Africa Republic (CAR) last weekend. The Zebras were fresh from holding North African giants Egypt to a 1-1 draw in an international friendly before a spirited 2-1 loss to Ethiopia.

Despite failing to win consistently, the Zebras might find themselves with an outside chance of progressing to the third round of the 2014 World Cup qualifiers. This after Ethiopia were investigated by FIFA for using an ineligible player.  A verdict against the Ethiopians will blast Group A wide open with both South Africa's Bafana Bafana and the Zebras easing back into contention. Ethiopia had ended all interest in Group A with a massive 2-1 victory over South Africa which meant they took an unassailable five-point lead with just one round of matches remaining.Tshosane, while praising the BFA, also acknowledged the return of Dirang Moloi, rightly nicknamed 'Umthakathi' for his explosive midfield displays.
