Gaborone United (GU) ended a 19-year wait by winning the be MOBILE Premier League on the last day of the season. It was refreshing that the title race was decided on the last day of the season after a close contest between GU and Mochudi Centre Chiefs. This added excitement to the campaign as the two sides were fixtured to meet each other on the last weekend of the season. The coming on board of be MOBILE was another positive after Munhumutapa African Broadcasting Corporation (MABC)'s fiasco saw the league start late. The cellular phone service provider saved the situation with a P15 million, three-year sponsorship.

Despite the shortage of stadiums, the Premier League Committee (PLC) tried its best and the programme finished on time. There were few fixture postponements and the PLC chaired by Mike Molefe with Setete Phethego as acting general manager deserve a pat on the back for a job well done. The top goal scorer, Master Masitara surpassed last season's tally of 18 by nine goals which shows how competitive the league was this year.
