Subaru supports Kalahari challenge cycle race

Subaru has confirmed its commitment to Botswana's premier mountainbiking event, the Kalahari Challenge 2 Day Race, organised by Gaborone Cycling Club to be held from July 21-22.

Carlos De Abreu, managing director of SUBARU Gaborone says the opportunity to be the title sponsor will elevate the profile of the event and the Brand will benefit from greater awareness in Botswana, generated by its active participation in outdoor adventure sports.

Following in David Livingstone's footsteps in the rugged and beautiful Vulture Hills south of Gaborone, teams of two clock up 190km of demanding mountainbiking over two long days, of which more than 40 percent is "natural" single-track.  Riders must contend with gruelling hill climbs, sand, some very rocky areas, and every variety of thorn known to man.  This is mountainbiking's equivalent of the Desert 1000, except there is no horsepower, just pedal-power!
