SELEBI-PHIKWE: The Selebi-Phikwe Town Council (SPTC) is confident of hosting a successful Botswana Land Boards and Local Authorities Sports Association (BLLASA) games. The games will be held from March 22 - 27.

Speaking during a press conference last week, BLLASA branch chairperson, Losika Kula, explained that they were influenced by the challenges facing Selebi-Phikwe to host the games.

He said the games can play a major role in the diversification of the economy of the town and the region through sports tourism. He said the government has invested a lot in the diversification drive by putting up structures such as the Selebi-Phikwe Economic Diversification Unit (SPEDU) and it is time civil servants had an input in the initiative. Kula added that the challenges facing the town can be overcome only if all stakeholders take them head-on.
