Sport View sends quartet to SA's Yellow Pages

Local athletics club, Sport View Athletics Club has funded four local athletes to take part in this evening's Yellow Pages Series event in Potchefstroom, South Africa.

The ambitious club had to chip in after it emerged the Botswana Athletics Association (BAA) had no funds to take the athletes to Potchefstroom. Pako Seribe (400 metres), high jumper Kabelo Kgosiemang, Isaac Seoke (800 metres) and Tlotlo Kebinakgabo (800 metres) are targeting qualification at this year's World Championships.

The quartet has been in camp ahead of the meet courtesy of Sport View.The club's chairman, Glody Dube said the idea was to help the athletes attain their dream of making it to the World Championships later this year."The idea is to give these guys a chance to qualify for the World Championships. I feel as clubs we must desist from over relying on the association. We need to come to a point where we can do things on our own," Dube told Mmegi Sport.
