Spiking Stars Off To A Good Start

Spiking Stars made a good start to this year's Debswana Cup when they thumped Police VI 3-0 in an exciting game played at BNPC courts on Saturday.

The first set was a closely contested one with both teams showing their intentions of making a good start. But Police started the set very slower than their opponents. They conceded silly mistakes, which gave Spiking Stars confidence but towards the middle of the set, they came back strongly and showed more focus and determination. They played more like a team and with captain Boitumelo Sethoko outstanding, they looked more dangerous with their spikes.

The set became more interesting towards the end with the two teams getting tied at 24-24. Spiking Stars quickly added two more points to make it 26-24 but Police also fought back to level matters. Spiking Stars finally stole the set by winning 28-26.
