Southern region face soccer free-fall

Up to four clubs are in danger of relegation from the First Division South League because of the goings-on in the Mascom Premier League.

Clubs from the south have had a torrid time in the top league and there are high chances that up to three of them might be relegated. The situation will be worse if three clubs from the south are relegated and none from the region fails to win the Mascom Premier League play-offs. The free-fall from the top will rip through to the basement of the First Division South right up to District football in the region.

Chairman of First Division South League, Charles Chilisa told Mmegi Sport that in the worst case scenario, they will kick-out four clubs to District football. But if a club from the south wins the play-offs, then only three will be relegated from the First Division South.
