Plans are afoot to invite teams from neighbouring countries next month.Kenosi said the extravaganza remains the only tournament under the Botswana Softball Association (BSA) calendar with a lot of cash prizes. He explained that the games will be played at Area Two, Selebi-Phikwe Senior Secondary School, Area One and Selebi-Phikwe Technical College grounds. Kenosi said the tournament which will be held for the fifth year running has seen the growth in sponsorship due to the good relationship that the local organising committee has with sponsors.

He noted that just like last year, the main sponsors of the tournament are Komatsu for men and Bridgestone for ladies and the other sponsors are BCL Mine and Stanlib. "BCL has been playing a big role in the improvement of the grounds especially the one at Area Two because we have managed to install flood lights and also improved stands for VIP's. We do not want games to be abandoned because it was dark to play," he said. The defending champions in the men's side are BDF IX and on the ladies side is Bears. Ladies teams that will be participating from the North are: Comets, Wipers, Carats and Rail Giants and from the South are Bears, Police IX, Wells and BDF IX.
